Grade: 7 (Spinal points 29-31)

Salary: £15.31/hr - £16.25/hr (Hours to be advised and your salary will reflect preparation time).

This appointment is subject to annual review.

The Governors are wishing to appoint a well organised, efficient person for the role of Clerk to the Governing Body. You will be working closely with the Chair of Governors, Head Teacher and will liaise with governors as well as the LCC Governor Services. The successful candidate will be expected to attend approximately 10 meetings per academic year which are usually held in the evening between 6.00pm – 8.00pm at the school plus additional hours to collate/distribute information. Confidentiality and working to deadlines is imperative.

You must be able to provide administrative support. The clerk prepares agendas, convenes meetings, takes and distributes governing body meeting minutes, ensuring that relevant paperwork and information for Governor and Committee members is circulated in accordance with regular deadlines; maintains attendance records, offers procedural/legal advice and guidance during and between meetings and takes any follow up action as required or as directed by the governing body; maintaining correct membership records and systems for all Governor correspondence.

The successful candidate will need to:

• be proactive, flexible and a clear communicator

• be an efficient and highly organised person with proven administration and ICT skills

• have regular access to a computer with email facilities, as minutes may need to be altered and emailed to

relevant committee members.

• liaise with the Local Authority

• undertake any training required

• keep up to date on matters affecting school governance

• have an interest in education.
