Welcome

Dear John Perryn Families,

Welcome to the new school year! I hope your summer was filled with family and fun.

As we wrap up our first week back at school, I’m reminded why John Perryn is an amazing school. I can’t express to you the joy and privilege I feel at greeting the children each morning. John Perryn School is filled with happy children, who are eager to learn and excited to be here every day. Where else can you find students pressing against the school gate, bursting with energy at 8:45 in the morning?

Learning is our core purpose and we champion challenge and learning within a safe school environment where everyone is helpful, considerate and respectful of each other. We have been concentrating on making the learning links explicit with a level of challenge which encourages our pupils to develop resilience, independence and persistence. We want our children to be encouraged to explore ideas, reason, explain and justify their thinking. This will enable them to make informed decisions and facilitate life-long learning. I believe it will also contribute towards keeping them safe. “Aiming high to achieve success in all we do”

We know that the best way to teach children is to model for them the qualities we hope they develop. Our teachers are superb models of lifelong learning and their passion and dedication will provide experiences for all. Our school has a positive reputation for embracing and celebrating every kind of achievement. This is reflected in our commitment to inclusion and unity. At all times we strive for the highest standards in all areas of the curriculum for all children.

We all know that school is a part of life, rather than a preparation for life, and the lives our children experience here at John Perryn are forming lifelong learners and engaged, empathetic citizens. But even more than that, John Perryn School is a community of learners. I believe this is why our students are so eager every morning to enter the building. They know that learning is fun and important and that they are respected. “The John Perryn Way”

As we embark on this new school year, I’m looking forward to many opportunities to hear from you about your hopes and dreams for John Perryn and to partner with you to make the school all it can be.

I am so proud to be the Interim Head of this beautiful school, and I’m looking forward to another year of learning together.

Kindest Regards,

Ricardo Diaz

Interim Head of School
