Our ‘Why?’

At John Perryn, we are teachers because we believe in the power of education to transform lives. We are driven by a shared commitment to give every child—not just some—the opportunity to succeed, regardless of their starting points. Our pupils often face complex and sometimes traumatic lived experiences, and so we approach our role with care, compassion and determination. We teach the way we do because we know that high expectations, equity and kindness change outcomes. We are relentless in our belief that all children can achieve, and we reject limitations or low expectations of any kind. We prepare our pupils not only for secondary school but for a life beyond East Acton, instilling the confidence, knowledge and resilience to thrive in any environment. Through our curriculum and wider offer, we work harder to provide enrichment, opportunity and challenge—because our children deserve nothing less. We aim to develop well-rounded individuals who are curious, articulate, empathetic and proud of who they are. Every decision we make is rooted in our belief that all children should have equal opportunities and access to success. We genuinely want our pupils to be able to do anything they choose in life. That is why we are uncompromising in our standards and unwavering in our support. We are, in every sense, ‘Aiming high to achieve success in all that we do.’
